German contractor Goldbeck Solar GmbH has finalized the construction of a 37 MWp solar park in Wunsiedel, eastern Germany.
The facility is expected to generate approximately 38,584 MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power around 9,500 households. It will also contribute to a reduction of about 15,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Spanning approximately 25 hectares (61.78 acres), the solar park features two fields designed with a traditional south-facing configuration and two additional fields using an east-west alignment.
This hybrid approach enhances power generation throughout the day, thereby increasing the system's overall efficiency, according to Goldbeck.
Construction of the solar park commenced in September 2023, in collaboration with energy supplier Munch Energie.
Goldbeck Solar specializes in the turnkey construction of industrial, commercial, and large-scale photovoltaic systems. The company has recently initiated a 29 MWp solar project in the Castile and Leon region of Spain.
