Generai, a subsidiary of Milan-based renewable power producer Alerion Clean Power SpA, has finalized an agreement with Goldwind Energy Italia, a local unit of Chinese manufacturer Goldwind, for the supply of turbines for a 29.4-MW wind project in Italy.
Goldwind will provide seven GW155-4.2 turbines for the wind park located in the province of Foggia, with construction expected to commence shortly. The project is anticipated to become operational in the second half of 2025.
In addition to the turbine supply, the agreement includes a medium-term operation and maintenance contract.
This deal highlights the growing presence of Chinese turbine manufacturers in the European market, following a recent entry into Germany that raised concerns about potential anti-competitive practices.
