Green Volt Floating Wind Farm to Highlight Floating Sector at UK Investment Summit

The 560MW Green Volt floating wind farm, developed by and Vargronn, will represent the floating wind sector at the 's International Investment Summit.

The Aberdeen-based project is expected to unlock £2.5 billion in private investment and create up to 2,800 construction jobs after securing a Contract for Difference in the recent AR6 auction.

Green Volt, the first major commercial floating wind development in , aims to become the world's largest floating wind farm with government backing.

The developers highlighted Aberdeen as the project's headquarters due to the city's large concentration of subsea supply chain companies.

Vargronn CEO Stephen Bull commented, “To build a national industry, a comprehensive floating wind strategy is required — from development of supply chain and ports to innovation projects, awarding new acreage, and route to market through to attract private investments.”
