French solar power producer Corsica Sole announced on Wednesday a power off-take agreement for the output of its newly inaugurated 14.5-MW solar park located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France.
The company celebrated the opening of the Campet-et-Lamolere photovoltaic (PV) park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. As per a LinkedIn post, the plant will operate under a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with a prominent company in the steel industry, which will benefit from a stable power supply while reducing its carbon footprint.
Situated in the Campet-et-Lamolere commune of the Landes department, the solar farm occupies a 9.70-hectare site surrounding the notable Chateau de Campet. This specific plot of land was previously devastated by Cyclone Klaus in 2009.
The PV park is expected to generate approximately 18.8 GWh of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the needs of over 5,000 homes. Corsica Sole emphasized that the project includes an environmental plan that features the reforestation of the area.
