Small-scale solar project developer SolarBank Corp has unveiled plans to develop a 13.8 MW ground-mounted solar project, named Grandview, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This initiative marks the company's first community solar scheme in the state.
The Grandview project is part of a broader three-project plan totaling 24.8 MW DC. SolarBank has secured a lease for the project site and is now focused on the next steps, which include permitting, interconnection, and arranging construction financing, according to a press statement.
This initiative follows the Pennsylvania House's passage of House Bill 1842 in March, which allows for the development of community solar projects within the state. The progress of the Grandview project is contingent upon final bill approval by the Senate.
Once operational, the grid-connected solar farm is expected to provide power to approximately 1,630 homes.
