Lightsource BP has officially launched the Kotuń Solar Farm, its first photovoltaic project in Poland, with a capacity of 50MW. This project represents a significant step in the company's efforts to contribute to Poland's renewable energy landscape.
The Kotuń Solar Farm aligns with Lightsource BP's global strategy of facilitating the energy transition and supports Poland's goals for decarbonization.
Since establishing its presence in Poland in late 2020, Lightsource BP has developed projects totaling 3.2GW of capacity, including the Kotuń facility.
Michał Głowacki, managing director of Lightsource BP Poland, emphasized the importance of solar energy in Poland's energy transition and expressed pride in delivering the Kotuń photovoltaic farm as part of the country's national decarbonization efforts.
Additionally, the company has secured a long-term power purchase agreement with Microsoft for the supply of green energy and continues to expand its operations and team in the region.
