Edda Wind has signed time charter contracts for two of its newbuild vessels, C503 and NB967, to support offshore wind projects in the UK and Taiwan. These contracts, both with undisclosed clients, will commence following the vessels' delivery from shipyards in late 2024 and mid-2025, respectively.
The vessel C503, also known as Vestri Enabler, will be delivered from the Astilleros Gondan shipyard in Spain in November 2024. It is scheduled to begin a four-month charter, with potential for extension, to support offshore wind operations in the UK during the winter season.
The second vessel, NB967, is set to be delivered from the Vard shipyard in Vietnam in the second quarter of 2025. This vessel will operate under a six-month contract in Taiwan, marking Edda Wind's entry into the Taiwanese offshore wind market, which is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
“Edda Wind is experiencing increased tendering activity, and we are pleased to report evidence of such activity, including our ability to secure full employment for our fleet,” said Kenneth Walland, CEO of Edda Wind. He added that these contracts underscore the company's capability to secure charters for its newbuilds and expand into new geographic markets.
In addition to these new contracts, Edda Wind confirmed the extension of its time charter contract for the vessel Edda Nordri until the end of 2024, ensuring that the company's fleet is fully booked through the end of the year.
