RWE and SKW Piesteritz Strike 10-Year Contract for Hydropower-Derived Electricity

and collaborate for a decade-long contract that will provide the German chemical company with -derived electricity beginning in 2025. At least 40% of SKW Piesteritz's electricity demands will be covered by certified green electricity from hydropower. This move is a part of SKW Piesteritz's larger goal of transitioning to green energy sources and creating a sustainable future energy mix.

SKW Piesteritz's CEO, , commented on the importance of green energy in their sustainability efforts, stating that hydropower is a crucial component of their green transformation. Using renewable energy will help the company save around 70,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. With the help of the new contract, the company will be able to continue producing green products, such as fertilizers and AdBlue, with the ‘Made in ' seal of trust and quality.
