Ternan Energy has been chosen to assist Ocean Winds with site investigation surveys for the 2 GW Caledonia Offshore Wind Farm, located off the east coast of Scotland in the Moray Firth.
The company will potentially support Caledonia in upcoming geophysical, geotechnical, and site preparation surveys. These surveys aim to gather critical data on seabed conditions, which will be instrumental in shaping the design, construction, and operation of the wind farm.
Euan Marjoribanks, Sales & Marketing Manager at Ternan Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are excited to strengthen our relationship with Ocean Winds and to have them put their trust in Ternan to support this important stage of the Caledonia project.”
He emphasized the significance of site investigations in the success of offshore projects and highlighted Ocean Winds' commitment to the local supply chain, adding that this project reflects ScotWind's positive impact on Scottish companies.
Sandy Douglas, Ocean Winds' surveys and GIS manager, noted, “Ternan Energy's proven track record in the offshore wind sector makes them an ideal partner for Ocean Winds.” He also pointed out that Ternan's specialist knowledge would help advance the Caledonia project toward construction while contributing to Scotland's role in the global offshore wind supply chain.
