Nordic Solar to Build 80-MWp PV Park in Lithuania

company Nordic Solar is set to expand its installed capacity in by constructing an 80-MWp photovoltaic (PV) park, marking its second solar project in the Baltic nation.

Once operational, the new plant will increase Nordic Solar's total capacity in Lithuania to 180 MWp. This development follows the successful launch of the Moletai scheme, which was the company's inaugural investment in Lithuania and has since become the largest solar farm in the country, boasting a capacity of 100 MWp that was officially inaugurated in May.

The new facility will be located in the Svencionys region, approximately 80 km north of Vilnius. It is anticipated to generate enough to satisfy the annual energy demands of about 26,000 European homes.

The solar park will utilize bifacial PV modules mounted on Nordic Solar's proprietary steel structures and is scheduled to begin delivering power to the grid in the first quarter of next year.
