Swiss renewables company Axpo Holding AG has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a 12.8-MWp rooftop solar array in the French town of Beauvais.
The solar panels cover an area of 62,000 square meters (667,362 sq ft) atop an industrial rooftop owned by French real estate developer Percier Realisation et Developpement (PRD).
The project was executed by Axpo's subsidiary Urbasolar in collaboration with PRD and investment manager Harbert Management Corporation (HMC).
According to Axpo, the Beauvais facility is the largest rooftop solar plant in France and is anticipated to generate approximately 13 GWh of electricity annually.
To date, Axpo, through Urbasolar, has installed over 190 MWp of rooftop solar systems across France. The company also offers various solar solutions in the country, including ground-mounted plants, car park canopies, greenhouses, agrivoltaics, and floating photovoltaics.
