Vietnamese logistics firm Dong Tam Group (DTG) has entered a cooperation agreement with Korea's CS Wind Corp. to establish a large-scale wind power manufacturing facility in Vietnam. The new factory will be constructed within the Long Southeast Asia Industrial Park, located at Long An International Port.
Under the agreement, DTG will lease 50 hectares of industrial land to CS Wind, which plans to build a facility for producing onshore and offshore wind towers, monopiles, and transition pieces. The initial investment for the project is set at $200 million, with the facility aiming to manufacture tens of thousands of units annually, each weighing between 500 and 4,000 tons.
Chairman of DTG's Board of Directors Vo Quoc Thang expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. “We are very excited to welcome a prestigious corporation such as CS Wind to invest in the Long An Southeast Asia Industrial Park,” he said. Thang highlighted the strategic advantage of the facility's location, emphasizing that the equipment produced will be exported globally through Long An International Port.
The partnership is expected to enhance Vietnam's role in the global wind energy supply chain as demand for renewable energy infrastructure continues to grow worldwide.
