Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) has received its third Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV), named IWS Seawalker, from China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMI). The vessel, delivered through IWS's subsidiary IWS Fleet, is designed specifically to service offshore wind farms.
IWS Seawalker is the third in a series of six identical sister vessels. The remaining three vessels are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first half of 2025. These CSOVs, designed by Kongsberg Maritime, are equipped with advanced 3D compensated gangway and crane systems to enhance operational efficiency in offshore environments.
The vessels boast several industry-leading features, including the largest battery packs currently available in the sector, supplemented by solar panels for additional charging. Their innovative hull and propulsion design not only improves operability but also reduces emissions, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.
Additionally, the CSOVs are the first in the industry to receive the DNV SILENT notation, which underscores their commitment to minimizing the impact on marine life by reducing underwater noise pollution.
