Ramboll has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide technical advisory services to Polish offshore wind developer PGE Baltica. The Danish consultancy will support the development of PGE Baltica's 7GW offshore wind farm portfolio in the Baltic Sea, ensuring technical, financial, and operational robustness throughout the projects' lifecycles.
PGE Baltica, a subsidiary of the PGE Group, is leading the company's offshore wind program, including the 2.5GW Baltica wind farm off the coast of Poland. The Baltica 1 wind farm, with a capacity of 900MW, is expected to join the portfolio after 2030. Ramboll's advisory role will be critical as PGE Baltica expands its offshore wind capacity, particularly with new seabed areas acquired in the Baltic Sea, allowing for further project development by 2040.
Ramboll's presence in Poland has grown significantly, with offices in Warsaw and Gdynia, positioning the company to expand its operations within the region. The consultancy brings substantial experience to the table, having been involved in numerous contemporary offshore wind projects in the Polish Baltic Sea, where it has provided a range of engineering and advisory services.
“With a growing local presence in Poland and with offices in Warsaw and Gdynia right at the coast of the Baltic Sea, Ramboll has been able to significantly expand its operations within the region,” the company stated, underscoring its commitment to supporting PGE Baltica's ambitious offshore wind goals.
