Hee Joung Moon has been appointed as the new chief executive of CS Wind Offshore following the decision of current CEO Joseph Oh and Co-CEO Henrik Olesen to step down for personal reasons to prioritize their families. Olesen will continue to serve as a member of the board.
Moon, who currently heads CS Wind Portugal, brings extensive experience from Samsung SDI and senior management roles in CS Wind UK and CS Wind Germany. In a statement, Moon expressed his commitment to ensuring stability for employees, customers, and stakeholders.
“I am very pleased to be joining CS Wind Offshore,” Moon said. “Our owners, CS Wind, acquired this company because of the evident potential to establish a profitable, enduring business. The right prerequisites are present, but we are not there yet. I will do everything I can to make sure we turn things around and I look forward to doing so with the support of all my new colleagues across the organization.”
Moon acknowledged the contributions of his predecessors, saying, “It is with great understanding for each of their decisions that we at CS Wind Offshore thank both Mr. Joseph Oh and Mr. Henrik Olesen for their dedication to the company and the time and energy they have put into their work.”
During his nearly three-year tenure as CEO of CS Wind Portugal, Moon oversaw significant investments to expand the wind tower factory's production capacity in response to high market demand. In December 2023, CS Wind completed its acquisition of Bladt Industries, further solidifying its position in the wind energy sector.
