Polish solar power producer R.Power SA announced on Friday that it has finalized contracts to construct 23 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) farms in Romania.
The agreements involve Poland's Nomad Electric and Romania-based renewable energy contractor Waldervar for the general execution of the projects, which are in the shovel-ready stage. The PV farms will be situated in central and eastern Romania and are scheduled to be connected to the national medium-voltage grid and operational by the second quarter of 2025.
R.Power is broadening its operations in Romania and expanding its presence in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Germany. The company aims to develop a solar PV portfolio of 100 MWp in Romania by the end of 2025 and to achieve a global operational capacity of 1 GW by next year.
In March, R.Power secured a pipeline exceeding 200 MWp, including multiple solar projects across Romania, all of which have received necessary permits and grid-connection agreements.
