Mammoet Secures Exclusive Heavy Lift Contract at Steel River Quay

has signed an agreement to become the exclusive contractor for heavy lift and transport services at Steel River Quay, , aiming to support the 's expanding wind energy market.

Leveraging its extensive knowledge and global experience, Mammoet will help the port benefit from its successful work on projects like Hywind Tampen and Offshore Wind Farm's 114 foundations, the company stated.

Teesworks, a 2,600-acre site located on the River Tees in Northeast England, is a key component of the Teesside Freeport, the UK's largest freeport.

Mammoet Managing Director Mark Sadler expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This is an exciting partnership developed with the aim of supporting growth in the Teesside area and is underpinned by a set of common goals: to drive investment, long-term job creation and delivering operational excellence.”

The five-year contract includes the provision of specialist field personnel, mobile cranes, crawler cranes, and SPMT trailers. Mammoet will also collaborate with the Teesworks Skills Academy to train and upskill the local workforce through the Mammoet Academy.

Teesworks Chairman Chris Musgrave highlighted the benefits of the agreement, noting, “Mammoet is the world leader in heavy lift and transport solutions. This agreement will grant us access to its global network, experience and equipment, and the support and involvement of its management and safety teams.”

Mammoet will offer early contractor engagement, advisory support, and engineering guidance to ensure safe and effective completion of each project.
