Enefit Green has finalized an €100 million, eight-year loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the construction of the 255 MW Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025.
The Sopi-Tootsi wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to meet approximately 40% of the annual consumption of Estonian households. Additionally, it will contribute to Estonia's decarbonization efforts by reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 480,000 tonnes annually.
Enefit Green is actively developing renewable energy projects, with five wind farms and three solar farms under construction across Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia, totaling 637 MW of capacity. Earlier this year, the company commissioned the 72 MW Tolpanvaara wind farm in Finland, bringing its operating electricity generation capacity to 587 MW.
Enefit Green stated, “Sopi-Tootsi wind farm will help to further decarbonize Estonia's electricity production by saving an estimated 480,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.”
