UAE and Chile Sign Agreement to Strengthen Economic Ties, Emphasizing Renewable Energy

H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, and H.E. Nicolás Grau, Chilean Minister of Economy, Development, and Tourism, recently met to discuss deepening economic cooperation between their nations. The meeting resulted in the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), aimed at enhancing investment flows, expanding trade, and fostering partnerships.

The CEPA seeks to facilitate easier access to markets in and and underscores a mutual commitment to improving collaboration across sectors such as , technology, and agriculture.

H.E. Bin Touq highlighted 's role as a significant economic partner in South America, noting its favorable investment environment. He expressed optimism about advancing bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

The discussions also addressed support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the potential for joint initiatives in tourism and aviation. Both ministers recognized the importance of enabling SMEs to enter international markets and discussed promoting each country's tourism attractions and historical sites.

H.E. Bin Touq extended an invitation to Minister Grau to attend the fourth edition of Investopia in February 2025. This event will provide a platform to discuss global investment strategies, with a focus on renewable energy and other key economic areas.

The agreement reflects a strong commitment from both the UAE and Chile to enhance economic cooperation and explore new avenues for growth, particularly in renewable energy.
