Chile produced 34.1% of its gross electricity from non-conventional renewables in June, up slightly from 33.6% in May, according to the latest figures from the national energy commission (CNE).
Non-conventional renewables generated 2,467 GWh gross in June, marking a 1.9% decline compared to the previous month. Annually, however, June's renewables output increased by 2.3%.
Gross power production from conventional energy sources dropped by 4.2% month-on-month to 4,759 GWh. Consequently, total gross power production in June fell by 3.4% from May, amounting to 7,226 GWh.
Chile's total net installed non-conventional renewable energy capacity rose to 15,012 MW in June, up from 14,971 MW in May.
