RWE Commissions First Solar Farm in Poland with Over 100MWac Capacity

RWE has launched its first solar farm in Poland, part of a series with a total capacity exceeding 100MWac. The Bojanowo East photovoltaic farm, with an 8.5MWac capacity, is situated in the Wielkopolskie region. Equipped with over 17,800 solar modules, it will supply green electricity to more than 4,300 households annually. "Bojanowo East is a great milestone for RWE’s solar expansion in our Polish core market," said Katja Wünschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia. As part of its sustainability strategy, RWE collaborates with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan on a biomonitoring pilot project to enhance biodiversity at solar farms. Pro-environmental measures have been implemented at 10 selected sites to provide habitats for insects. RWE Renewables Poland operates wind farms with a total installed capacity of 541MW and solar capacity of 54MWac, with additional green projects in development.
