OEG Energy Group has completed the acquisition of Offshore Painting Services (OPS Wind), a specialist in operations, maintenance, and training services for the offshore wind sector.
OPS Wind, headquartered in Liverpool with a regional office in Llandudno, North Wales, will join OEG's renewables division, OEG Renewables, under its topside service line. The acquisition aims to enhance OEG's ability to offer integrated service solutions to offshore wind developers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), improving project efficiencies and reducing interface risks with contractors.
“OPS Wind has established itself as a leading provider of topside asset integrity services which help to improve operational efficiency, safety, and asset protection for offshore wind farm infrastructure,” OEG stated.
OPS Wind provides composite protective solutions, employs around 100 service and maintenance technicians, and operates a specialized training facility, OPS Training, in Liverpool.
“We are very pleased to welcome OPS Wind to OEG,” said OEG Renewables managing director Eric Briar. “This strategic and highly complementary acquisition will strengthen and expand our topside service line as well as introduce a valuable new training offering to develop the skills and knowledge offshore personnel need to safely work and perform critical operations on offshore wind assets.”
The acquisition positions OEG Renewables as a leader in providing integrated solutions to the offshore wind sector.
OPS Wind managing director David Jones remarked, “Joining OEG unlocks the potential for growth via OEG Renewables' global network, its broader service portfolio, and the opportunity to integrate services and products to the benefit of our clients. Both OEG Renewables and OPS Wind share the same values and commitment to the high-quality delivery of safe, reliable, innovative, and efficient services to enhance and protect our clients' offshore wind assets.”
