(ELE) announced on Tuesday that it has completed the first round of public consultations for its Belle Plaine Clean-Tech Energy Refinery & Facility project in Saskatchewan, .

The project involves the construction of a clean-fuels refinery (CFR) with a capacity to process 30,000 barrels per stream day of low-sulphur light crude oil. The facility will focus on producing diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel.

Additionally, a 125-MW solar facility will be developed, with part of its output dedicated to powering the CFR and the remainder supporting the local power grid and regional industrial demand.

Situated in the village of Belle Plaine, approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) northwest of Pense, the complex will be located along the Trans-Canada Highway supply-chain route and will include a railyard.

The development is being carried out in partnership with Ochapowace First Nation's economic development group. Atoskewin Business Development Corporation has recently formed a limited partnership with ELE, acquiring a 35% stake in the project.
