French renewable energy company announced on Tuesday that it has secured a contract with Polska SA to install photovoltaic (PV) systems on the roof of the telecom group's data centre in Warsaw, Poland.

The agreement includes the installation of 299 kWp of PV systems, which are expected to generate approximately 250 MWh of green electricity annually. Under the 20-year contract, GreenYellow will handle the financing, construction, maintenance, and operation of the solar installation.

The project, facilitated through GreenYellow's photovoltaic-as-a-Service (PVaaS) model, will enable Orange Polska to use 5,000 MWh of green electricity for its own consumption over the term of the agreement. This arrangement is projected to help offset 3,200 tonnes of dioxide (CO2) emissions.

GreenYellow highlighted that the contract was customized to address the specific requirements of Orange Polska. In a related move last October, Orange Polska had engaged local renewables developer S.A. to supply over 600 GWh of electricity from solar parks between 2024 and 2034.
