Good Energy has announced a partnership with to provide customers with the opportunity to own a stake in wind and solar projects. This new initiative aims to enhance Good Energy's existing tariff offering, which is already 100% renewable through power purchase agreements (PPAs), by allowing customers to own a portion of renewable projects and potentially lower their bills.

Currently, all Good Energy customers benefit from tariffs backed by power sourced directly from over 2,500 renewable generators across the UK. With the new partnership, they will be able to invest in Ripple Energy's cooperative renewable projects and receive credits on their Good Energy accounts based on the electricity generated by these projects.

The initiative aligns with the new Labour Government's strategy to expand renewable energy as part of its net zero commitments.

Good Energy is set to join Ripple Energy as an anticipated supplier, with plans to fully launch the collaboration in the coming weeks. Once operational, customers will have the option to invest in Ripple's upcoming projects, such as the Whitelaw Brae , which is projected to be the largest consumer-owned renewable energy site in Britain.

Good Energy Chief Executive Nigel Pocklington stated, “Good Energy are the specialists in microgeneration – helping hundreds of thousands of customers to generate their own clean power and source it from small-scale renewable generators. By working with Ripple we can offer them the chance to own their own portion of a large-scale renewable project and reduce their bills at the same time.”

Sarah Merrick, Founder and Chief Executive of Ripple Energy, noted, “Cooperative ownership of renewable energy sites is gaining real momentum in the UK, with Ripple demonstrating the tangible benefits that are accessible to everyone, no matter where they live. Good Energy backing this movement and becoming our latest supply partner further simplifies the process for consumers, making it even easier for people to get involved. Good Energy customers will be able to seamlessly own their own sources of renewable energy without having to switch suppliers.”
