Sungrow to Supply 7.8 GWh Battery Systems for Saudi Arabia’s Renewable Goals

Power Supply Co Ltd , a leading Chinese provider of photovoltaic (PV) inverters and systems, has entered into an agreement with 's Algihaz Holding to supply up to 7.8 GWh of energy storage (BESS) systems for a transformative project in the Kingdom.

Utilizing Sungrow's advanced PowerTitan 2.0 technology, these batteries will be deployed across locations in Najran, Madaya, and Khamis Mushait.

According to Sungrow, delivery of the three systems is slated for 2024, with commissioning scheduled to commence in 2025.

The initiative aims to significantly bolster the stability and reliability of Saudi Arabia's power grid, aligning closely with the goals outlined in the Kingdom's Vision 2030 strategy.

“This project marks a pivotal step in Saudi Arabia's ambitious expansion efforts,” Sungrow highlighted in its statement on Tuesday, underlining the Kingdom's target to increase renewables' share to 50% of the power mix by the end of the decade.
