Constant Energy, a solar project developer, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply green power to Midea Refrigeration Equipment Thailand.
The agreement involves the installation of 12 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) arrays on the company's premises in Chonburi Province.
The rooftop solar systems will be mounted on three production facilities and a carpark area at Midea's factory. This installation is expected to reduce the company's electricity expenses and cut carbon dioxide emissions by 130,000 tonnes over the system's lifespan.
“Our organization is committed to sustainable practices, and this partnership demonstrates our recognition of the vital relevance of green energy,” said Cai Yaowu, General Manager of Midea Refrigeration Equipment Thailand, a subsidiary of China's Midea Group.
The contract was supported by Anhui Midea Hekang Electric Power Engineering.
