I FCR has successfully connected the Calera plant in the province of Toledo to the grid, marking the first operational asset owned by the fund. The project, featuring 34,720 solar panels, commenced construction at the end of 2022 and was executed by GES (Global Energy Services Siemsa), a subsidiary of the CL Industrial Group.

“The facility will produce approximately 42,000 MWh/year, equivalent to the annual consumption of nearly 13,000 homes in Spain and will prevent the emission of some 40,200 tonnes of CO2-eq in the same period,” the company said.

The project, financed through a “unitranche” structure with Kobus Asset Finance I and guaranteed by the European Investment Fund (EIF), includes environmental measures such as a restoration and planting project along the Cañada Real Segoviana, aimed at mitigating its environmental impact.

David Angulo, president of Dunas Capital, expressed his satisfaction: “We are excited to have achieved, after much effort and months of waiting, this great milestone for the first of the Fund's plants. We continue to make good progress with the rest of the portfolio and are committed to the energy transition and renewable energies in our country.”

Dunas Clean Energy I manages a portfolio of photovoltaic projects totaling close to 300MWp and plans to commence construction on three additional projects in the last quarter of 2024, with a goal to have the entire portfolio operational by 2026.
