Chinese photovoltaic (PV) inverter and energy storage system provider Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd revealed on Friday its agreement to supply battery energy storage systems for France's Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) in Belgium's 200-MW/800-MWh Vilvoorde project.
Engie, a prominent French electric utility, has recently initiated construction on what is set to be one of Europe's largest battery installations.
This marks Sungrow's debut energy storage project in Belgium, where it will deploy 320 units of its liquid-cooled energy storage system, PowerTitan. Sungrow emphasizes that the PowerTitan's pre-assembled delivery reduces on-site installation time by 50%, and its compact back-to-back installation design minimizes footprint, making it highly suitable for large-scale battery facilities.
Earlier in May, Sungrow announced a significant battery order of 116.5 MW/230 MWh in Germany. In 2023 alone, the Chinese firm shipped 10.5 GWh of its PowerTitan energy storage products worldwide.
