Nordex has secured a significant order to supply turbines for a 42 megawatt (MW) wind project near Kaunas, Lithuania. The contract, signed with E energija group, includes the installation of six N163/6.X turbines along with a long-term service agreement spanning 35 years.
“This project marks the first of our three developments planned in central Lithuania this year, and we have selected Nordex based on their technological excellence and our successful partnership,” stated Gediminas Uloza, Chief Executive of E energija group.
The wind farm will feature Nordex's Delta4000 series turbines mounted on 159-meter tubular steel towers. Delivery and installation are scheduled to commence in the second half of 2025, with commissioning expected within the same year.
E energija group plans to operate the six Nordex turbines, each boasting a nominal output of 7MW, contributing to Lithuania's renewable energy goals.
Patxi Landa, Chief Sales Officer of Nordex Group, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration: “Since the beginning of our cooperation in early 2023, E energija group has consistently chosen Nordex, ordering a total of 50 units of the N163/6.X turbines with a cumulative capacity of 346MW. We value the trust placed in us and look forward to continuing our partnership.”
Nordex has been a significant player in Lithuania's wind energy sector since 2015, having installed over 950MW of wind capacity across various projects.
