Attentive Energy, based in Jersey City, has announced plans to submit a 1.3 gigawatt (GW) wind project in New Jersey's Fourth Offshore Wind Solicitation (NJ4), aiming to advance the state's offshore wind sector while emphasizing environmental stewardship and local economic growth.
According to Attentive Energy, the proposed project represents a forward-thinking strategy to bolster New Jersey's offshore wind industry. The developer highlighted the project's alignment with the state's robust commitments to offshore wind transmission and infrastructure.
“This proposal builds on the momentum and success of the AE2 project and the State's leading commitments to offshore wind transmission and infrastructure,” Attentive Energy stated.
The wind farm, once completed, is projected to provide renewable energy to approximately 650,000 New Jersey homes annually. Additionally, it aims to contribute up to $110 million in community investments, focusing on sustainability, workforce development, labor initiatives, environmental justice, and education.
Attentive Energy's initiative underscores ongoing efforts to expand renewable energy capacity in New Jersey, contributing to state-wide goals for clean energy and sustainable development.
The proposal marks a significant step in New Jersey's renewable energy landscape, with Attentive Energy poised to play a pivotal role in advancing offshore wind capabilities while fostering community-oriented benefits.
