Larsen & Toubro announced that its renewables division has secured contracts to build two solar projects in the Middle East, totaling 3.5 GW in capacity.
The agreements, signed with a local developer whose identity remains undisclosed, mark a significant expansion in L&T's regional presence.
Under the terms of the contract, L&T will oversee the construction of solar facilities as well as the development of grid interconnections, including pooling substations and overhead transmission lines.
Detailed engineering and initial construction activities are slated to commence imminently, according to a company press statement.
This latest venture in the Middle East, coupled with a recent solar-plus-storage project awarded in India, bolsters Larsen & Toubro's renewables portfolio to nearly 22 GWp cumulative capacity. The portfolio encompasses both operational and upcoming solar and wind projects.
