Local authorities in Tüttendorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, have granted approval for European Energy and Energiequelle to expand and repower a wind farm, increasing its capacity from 12.5MW to 49.6MW. The project will involve installing eight Vestas V162-6.2MW turbines at a height of 200 meters.
Johannes Thon, Managing Director of European Energy Deutschland, highlighted the community involvement in the project, stating, “The community energy company BWP Tüttendorf Projekt GmbH & Co. KG will become co-owner of the new turbines. This will give citizens a direct stake in the wind farm and promote regional value creation.”
