Guyana Launches Tender for 15 MW Solar PV Project with Battery Storage

The Government of , in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), has initiated a competitive bidding process for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of three utility-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) systems. This project, known as GUYSOL Lot 2, is part of the Guyana Utility-Scale Solar PV Program funded under the Guyana-Norway Partnership.

According to official announcements, GUYSOL Lot 2 seeks to deploy a total of 15 MWp of solar PV capacity and 22 MWh of battery storage in Linden, Guyana.

The , titled “Engineering, procurement and construction of three utility-scale ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plants with battery systems – Lot 2,” invites bids from eligible international contractors who must adhere to International Competitive Bidding (ICP) procedures and meet specific qualification criteria.

Prospective bidders are required to participate in a pre-bid meeting and site visit scheduled for August 5-6, 2024, to inspect the project site and address any queries regarding the bidding process.

Bidding documents can be obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee of GYD 20,000.00 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency, with bids requiring a USD 250,000.00 bid security. The deadline for bid submission is 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, with bids to be opened during an online session on the same day.
