German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group has secured a significant order from Aquila Clean Energy to supply 21 turbines for a wind farm cluster in southern Spain. Scheduled for completion by summer 2025, the project in the Baza cluster, located in the province of Granada, marks Nordex's expansion into the Spanish market with its advanced N163/5.X turbines.
“We are delighted to be working with Aquila Clean Energy not only in the Northern European countries, but now also in Spain,” said Patxi Landa, Chief Sales Officer of the Nordex Group. “The new order once again demonstrates our confidence in our technology and our ability to successfully implement projects.”
The agreement includes a 20-year Premium Service contract for the turbines, ensuring long-term operational efficiency. Aquila Clean Energy also holds an option to expand the order with an additional 24 turbines, underscoring the flexibility and scalability of Nordex's solutions.
The Baza cluster spans eight locations between Granada and Almeria in Andalusia, where Nordex will deploy its Delta4000 series turbines atop 108-meter-high tubular steel towers. The entire wind farm cluster is expected to be operational by 2026, contributing significantly to Spain's renewable energy ambitions.
