EDP Renováveis SA announced on Tuesday the signing of three significant long-term power purchase agreements (PPA) in Europe, marking a pivotal advancement in their renewable energy portfolio. The agreements, totaling 133 MW of solar capacity, underscore EDPR's commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint across the continent.
According to sources close to the company, the off-taker of these agreements is a prominent US-based technology firm, although specific details of the partnership were not disclosed by EDPR.
The agreements entail EDPR supplying the generated output from a 60-MW solar park in Italy, a 58-MW plant in Germany, and a 15-MW solar farm in France. These projects are set to bolster EDPR's strategic position in the European renewable energy market.
In a statement, EDPR highlighted the significance of these PPAs, stating, “This marks a substantial step towards achieving our goal of installing approximately 10 GW of capacity during the 2024-2026 period, with over 70% already secured.”
The Portuguese renewables specialist continues to forge ahead in its mission to contribute significantly to Europe's renewable energy landscape, positioning itself as a key player in the global transition to sustainable energy solutions.
