R.Power Renewables, based in Poland, has announced the signing of its first contracts related to a series of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Romania, marking its entry into the country's renewable energy market.
The contracts encompass the entire scope of project implementation, including supply, installation, construction, and commissioning of the solar power plants. Specific details regarding the projects were not disclosed.
“We are confident that our investments will contribute to the continued growth of the photovoltaic sector in Romania, which is already experiencing impressive development,” stated Klaudiusz Kalisz, board member at R.Power. He highlighted Romania as a key market in the company's expansion strategy into new territories.
Romania has emerged as one of Europe's fastest-growing solar markets, adding over 1 GW of PV capacity in 2023 alone.
Earlier this June, R.Power expanded its portfolio by acquiring stakes in companies holding rights to 21.4 MWp of shovel-ready PV projects in Portugal. The company is also actively planning to develop PV parks in Spain and Germany as part of its strategic expansion efforts.
