Titan Wind Energy to Invest EUR 300 Million in German Monopile Facility

, a Chinese wind tower manufacturer, has announced plans to invest up to EUR 300 million (USD 321.7 million) in constructing a state-of-the-art production facility for monopiles in Cuxhaven, Germany. This decision aims to bolster production capabilities essential for the wind sector across Europe and the US.

The new facility, slated to commence operations by early 2025, will specialize in manufacturing monopiles boasting dimensions of up to 14 meters in diameter, 140 meters in length, and weighing 3,500 tonnes. With an impressive annual production capacity exceeding 500,000 tonnes, the plant is strategically positioned to serve the demanding offshore wind markets in the , Baltic Sea, and the United States.

Stefan Wenzel, parliamentary state secretary at the economic ministry, emphasized the significance of Titan Wind Energy's investment, stating, “This investment decision is important to increase the urgently needed production capacities for the offshore wind industry in Germany and Europe, while also being a crucial step for industrial transformation in Germany.”

Founded in 2005, Titan Wind Energy has established a strong presence in Europe with existing production facilities in Varde and , Denmark, as well as an offshore foundation plant in Cuxhaven, Germany. The company's expansion into monopile production signifies a commitment to supporting renewable energy globally.

The construction of the new facility is scheduled to commence in mid-2024, with preparations already underway, including the development of a substantial 320,000-square-meter storage area. Upon completion, the project is expected to create over 600 job opportunities, further contributing to regional economic growth and sustainability initiatives.
