Enviromena, a UK clean energy company, has received planning permission for its largest self-developed solar project to date, a 42.43-megawatt peak (MWp) solar farm in Christchurch, Dorset, southern England.
The project, known as Parley Court Solar Farm, was granted approval by the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council on June 18, the developer announced today.
Planning for the solar farm commenced in November 2021, with Enviromena's European development director Mark Harding expressing optimism about future projects. “With further projects totalling circa 200 MW submitted into the planning process in the past few months and a further 300 MW expected to be submitted into planning by the end of the summer, we hope that this is the first of many planning consents secured across our self-development pipeline in 2024,” Harding stated.
The Parley Court Solar Farm is anticipated to produce more than 51,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity annually.
Enviromena manages, operates, and maintains over 300 MW of renewable energy assets, underscoring its growing presence in the UK's renewable energy sector.
