New York Governor Kathy Hochul has unveiled a comprehensive initiative aimed at soliciting proposals for large-scale onshore renewable energy projects in the state. This move, part of New York's ambitious 10-Point Action Plan, seeks to accelerate progress towards the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act's target of sourcing 70% of electricity from clean energy by 2030.
The solicitation, overseen by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is anticipated to attract substantial private investment, generating economic growth and thousands of jobs. Key provisions in the process include inflation indexing, labor standards, and commitments to disadvantaged communities and climate resilience.

“This initiative underscores New York's commitment to building a sustainable energy economy,” Governor Hochul stated. “By selecting these projects, we aim to secure affordable, reliable, and emission-free electricity for all New Yorkers.”
The solicitation process will proceed in two stages, with eligibility requirements due by July 15 and final proposals expected by August 8.
