MET Group has finalized the acquisition of a significant solar-storage project in Saxony, Germany, from ToRa, a prominent developer specializing in solar and wind projects in the region.
The project site comprises a 62MW solar installation coupled with a co-located 60MW/240MWh battery energy storage system, underscoring MET Group's strategic expansion into renewable energy infrastructure.

Christian Hurlimann, Renewables CEO of MET Group, highlighted the synergies of the partnership: “ToRa GmbH is an ideal partner for MET Group in Germany as it has a large network and a project development portfolio of over 2.3GW. The German market presents an excellent opportunity for MET, and I would like to see us take a significant position in the German wind and solar market.”
MET Group secured the land for the project at the end of last year, envisioning further development potential for additional renewable projects in the Lausitz area.

The municipality of Groß Düben and local landowners have expressed strong support for the project, underscoring confidence in MET Group's partnership and its commitment to sustainable energy initiatives.
