RWE, a leading player in the energy sector, has embarked on the construction of a substantial 200MW wind project in the state of Texas. Known as the Montgomery Ranch Wind Farm, this endeavor, located in Foard County, is poised to significantly augment the company's installed wind capacity in the Lone Star State, ultimately reaching an impressive 4.3GW upon completion.
This ambitious project is set to feature 45 state-of-the-art 4.5MW turbines, courtesy of Vestas. Throughout its construction phase, it is expected to provide gainful employment to as many as 300 individuals, making a substantial contribution to the local economy. RWE anticipates that this endeavor will conclude by the end of 2024.

Notably, RWE's Texas portfolio also encompasses the 240MW Blackjack Creek and the 200MW El Algodon Alto wind farms, underscoring the company's commitment to renewable energy initiatives in the region.
Mark Noyes, Chief Executive of RWE Clean Energy, emphasized the significance of projects like the Montgomery Ranch Wind Farm, stating, “Wind projects such as Montgomery Ranch contribute to a cleaner, stronger economy and help create a more resilient energy infrastructure in Texas.”
He further elaborated on the pressing need for such initiatives, referencing last summer when ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) set 11 new demand records, and the anticipation of surpassing those records this summer. Noyes concluded by highlighting RWE's strategic approach to bolstering renewable resources in Texas, fostering a diverse, adaptable grid to meet the evolving energy demands of the Lone Star State.
