Matrix Renewables Expands US Footprint with Acquisition of Stillhouse Solar Project in Texas

, a leading company, has recently announced the of the Stillhouse Solar Project in Bell County, Texas. The 284MWdc (megawatt direct current) project was purchased from OCI Solar Power, marking another significant addition to Matrix's growing portfolio.

This acquisition follows the successful commercial operation of Matrix's Gaskell West Project earlier this month. The Gaskell West Project, located in the CAISO (California Independent System Operator) region, consists of 142MWdc of solar capacity and includes 80MWh (megawatt hour) of battery storage.

With this latest acquisition, Matrix Renewables now owns nearly 6GW (gigawatts) of renewable energy sites in various stages of development across four different regions in the United States. These regions include CAISO, MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator), ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas), and WECC (Western Coordinating Council).

The company remains focused on expanding its pipeline and strengthening its team to capitalize on the surging demand for clean energy in the United States. Matrix Renewables aims to play a crucial role in meeting the growing renewable energy needs of the nation.

Matrix Renewables has a global presence with projects in Spain, Italy, Chile, and now the United States. With the acquisition of the Stillhouse Solar Project, Matrix's total footprint in solar power, battery storage, and projects exceeds an impressive 12GW.

Cindy Tindell, the Managing Director and Head of US for Matrix Renewables, expressed her satisfaction with the acquisition, stating, “We are very pleased with the acquisition of the Stillhouse project, and we look forward to completing power offtake, procurement, and financing for the Project in the coming months. We appreciate the partnership with the OCI team and their efforts to get the projects to this stage.”

Construction of the Stillhouse Solar Project is scheduled to commence in 2024, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2025.
