Matrix Renewables, a leading renewable energy company, has recently announced the acquisition of the Stillhouse Solar Project in Bell County, Texas. The 284MWdc (megawatt direct current) project was purchased from OCI Solar Power, marking another significant addition to Matrix's growing portfolio.
This acquisition follows the successful commercial operation of Matrix's Gaskell West Project earlier this month. The Gaskell West Project, located in the CAISO (California Independent System Operator) region, consists of 142MWdc of solar capacity and includes 80MWh (megawatt hour) of battery storage.
With this latest acquisition, Matrix Renewables now owns nearly 6GW (gigawatts) of renewable energy sites in various stages of development across four different regions in the United States. These regions include CAISO, MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator), ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas), and WECC (Western Electricity Coordinating Council).
The company remains focused on expanding its pipeline and strengthening its team to capitalize on the surging demand for clean energy in the United States. Matrix Renewables aims to play a crucial role in meeting the growing renewable energy needs of the nation.
Matrix Renewables has a global presence with projects in Spain, Italy, Chile, and now the United States. With the acquisition of the Stillhouse Solar Project, Matrix's total footprint in solar power, battery storage, and green hydrogen projects exceeds an impressive 12GW.

Construction of the Stillhouse Solar Project is scheduled to commence in 2024, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2025. This significant renewable energy venture in Texas will contribute to the state's clean energy goals and further solidify Matrix Renewables' position as a key player in the renewable energy sector.
