G+, the leading global health and safety organization for the offshore wind sector, has announced that BP and Northland Power Inc. have joined as its latest members. As part of G+, the companies will have board representation and participate in G+'s European, APAC, and North American focal groups.
The G+ Chair and Northland Power's Global Head and Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environment, Jakob Nielsen, welcomed the new members, saying, “Working across the industry, G+'s focus on safety is unwavering. With these leading operators joining our well-established work program, our mission to uphold the highest industry health and safety standards will only be strengthened.”
Giles Mackey, BP's Head of Health, Safety, and Sustainability, added, “With the industry poised to enter a new phase of growth, G+'s role has never been more important, and I look forward to contributing our expertise to its work program.”
With the addition of BP and Northland Power, G+ now has 12 operators and numerous associate members, including Corio Generation, EDF Renewables, Equinor, Iberdrola, Ocean Winds, Orsted, RWE, Siemens Gamesa, SSE, and Vattenfall.
G+ held its annual stakeholder forum in Madrid last month, which was attended by over 120 participants from members, companies, and industry stakeholders. As the offshore wind industry continues to grow, G+'s mission to ensure the highest health and safety standards for workers and the environment remains essential.
