To achieve this goal, Blue Wind Engineering has partnered with Kinewell Energy, a provider of artificial intelligence-based cable-layout optimization technology. Kinewell Energy's KLOC (Kinewell Layout Optimization Cable) solution can design an economically optimized inter-array cable layout in a short amount of time while prioritizing the optimization of capital costs against operational costs, such as electrical distribution losses.

According to Dr. , the CEO and founder of Kinewell Energy, “We are delighted to have been selected by Blue Wind Engineering to support them on this exciting project. Our unique KLOC technology will help maximize the value of the project, through optimizing both the substation location and the inter-array cable system.”

Dr. , the CEO of Blue Wind Engineering, also expressed excitement about working with Kinewell Energy, saying, “We are looking forward to working with the Kinewell Energy team on this project, and the value-added they bring through their KLOC inter-array cable layout optimization technology.”

The contract with Kinewell Energy follows the global launch of the company's next-generation KLOC software at the Global Offshore Wind conference in the summer of 2022. Kinewell Energy developed this innovation with a share of £3.5m in match funding from the North of Tyne Combined Authority's TIGGOR program delivered by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult.
