German solar PV specialist Greentech has successfully commissioned three solar parks in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. These projects, namely the Nienbuettel (21.5 MWp), Agethorst (70.9 MWp), and Kohlenbek (10.3 MWp) solar farms, collectively boast a capacity of 103 MWp. Located in the Steinburg district, these installations represent a crucial investment in renewable infrastructure, amounting to approximately EUR 70 million (USD 75.29 million), financed by Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB).
Bernhard Graeber, Managing Director and Head of Alternative Assets at EB – Sustainable Investment Management GmbH (EB-SIM), expressed optimism about the impact of these projects, stating, “In total, the electricity generated by the plants in Nienbuettel and Agethorst can help avoid around 40,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually and supply around 20,000 four-person households with electricity.”
Greentech, headquartered in Hamburg, highlighted its commitment to furthering renewable energy initiatives across Schleswig-Holstein and other federal states. Recently, the company received municipal approval for another ambitious project—a 46 MWp solar endeavor in Grossenwiehe, Schleswig-Holstein. Construction is set to commence in the second quarter of 2025, with completion anticipated within eight months.
This latest development underscores Germany's ongoing efforts to expand its renewable energy capacity, positioning itself at the forefront of global green energy initiatives.
