Cuba officially received three photovoltaic parks during a ceremony in La Criolla, Santo Domingo, in the province of Villa Clara. The event, reported by journalist Bernardo Espinosa on his Facebook profile, marks a significant step in the country's renewable energy efforts.
The photovoltaic parks, donated by the Chinese Agency for International Cooperation and Development, represent a major investment in the municipalities of Villa Clara, Morón (Ciego de Ávila), and Miramar (Holguín). Combined, these facilities generate 12 MW of energy, all synchronized to Cuba's National Electric System (SEN).
This milestone initiates a broader investment campaign aimed at adding 1,000 MW to Cuba's energy matrix, with a focus on reducing fuel consumption in electricity generation.
