Norwegian energy company Statkraft recently initiated a significant green bond issuance aimed at funding renewable energy ventures and other specified projects outlined in its green finance framework.
The issuance, facilitated under Statkraft's Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme, encompasses two senior unsecured green bonds denominated in Swedish currency, along with one in Norwegian currency.
The offering includes a four-year senior unsecured green bond issue valued at Skr750m (€65m), another four-year senior unsecured green bond issue worth Skr500m, and a 10-year senior unsecured green bond issue totaling NOK 3.7bn (€326m).
Statkraft reported a notable oversubscription for the transaction, indicating strong investor interest in supporting environmentally sustainable initiatives.
The settlement date for the issuance is slated for June 14, 2024.
Acting as Joint Bookrunners for the issuance were Danske Bank, DNB Markets, Handelsbanken, and SEB.
