OEG Renewables and SOMAC Collaborate on Offshore Wind Projects in Japan

OEG Renewables and Sojitz Machinery Corporation (SOMAC) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide pre-construction, operations, maintenance (O&M), and vessel services for offshore wind projects in Japan. Japan is set to significantly expand its offshore wind capacity, with plans to add 3.5GW in the coming years to its existing 259.5MW. The country aims to reach 10GW by 2030 and up to 35-40GW by 2040, including floating offshore wind, as part of its commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. OEG Renewables (OEGR) has established itself as a strategic partner for offshore wind developers in Taiwan and other global markets, offering specialized services to meet client needs. In Taiwan, OEGR has supported major offshore wind developments with integrated service solutions for construction and O&M programs, including a recent successful O&M program on the Orsted Greater Changhua offshore wind farm. SOMAC, a trading company specializing in industrial machinery, provides comprehensive support to its customers in Japan and beyond.
