Onyx Insight Lands First Indonesian Contract, CEO Highlights Market Potential

Predictive analytics provider has clinched its inaugural contract in , marking a significant stride in its expansion into the Southeast Asian market.

Under the agreement, Onyx Insight will deploy its ecoCMS and fleetMONITOR technology across 30 turbines at UPC Renewables' 75MW Sidrap wind farm, ushering in a new era of comprehensive data analysis to facilitate long-term predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies.

The Sidrap wind farm, Indonesia's maiden utility-scale wind project, commenced operations in 2018, bolstering the Southern PLN grid with renewable energy.

Onyx's technology is set to revolutionize PdM strategies, enabling operators to efficiently manage turbine inspection and maintenance schedules for crucial components such as drivetrains, pitch bearings, and blades.

In a statement, the company emphasized the cost and time efficiencies yielded by its condition monitoring approach, coupled with enhanced safety measures.

, Onyx Insight's Chief Executive, expressed enthusiasm about penetrating the Indonesian market, highlighting the region's burgeoning installed capacity and the potential for substantial benefits through predictive maintenance solutions.

He underscored the imperative for turbines to operate at maximum capacity amid the global shift towards renewable energy sources, emphasizing the role of technology in mitigating reliability issues and optimizing operational efficiency.

Hall continued, “Proven technology such as our ecoCMS and fleetMONITOR allows operators to effectively reduce O&M spend while increasing productivity at a time when it has never been more important.”
